I think that once you do that I will ask yourself why did you do that? haha

Sure did. They came back. The check engine light seems sporadic though, does not come back right away.
I'm doing a live log tomorrow while jiggling the connector. Also cleaning the pins inside the connector plus the counterpart on the sensor

Replaced the lpfp, details are in another thread, still happening. If I leave it sitting for 2 or more days, it starts right up without any issues.

This car used to belong to a member on here, Richard. There is a massive Members Ride thread on it about 100 odd pages.
Yes I know, I bought it nbsp off Jamie who'#039s nbsp a friend of Richard. It'#039s a really good car with some excellent upgrades. I'#039m just going through all the age rel

If the headliner is starting to sag it's finished. Try the following person she does complete headline retrims on an exhange basis and comes highly recommended. She does them in OEM material too.

Re: P000A Issue - Help needed
Last Poster: oregato in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 10:43:30 am
Thanks for the reply - I forgot I had replaced the cam shaft position sensor with a bosch one as well. Updated my original post with that info.

Right now, I'm not sure if this is a mechanical/oil issue or an electrical issue if anyone can give me some pointers on what to test next?

Have you checked your cam follower/fuel pump tappet?

Mk5 Overheating, rad outlet temp stuck at 36!

Help overheating....

My radiator fans won'#039t kick into life and my car starts to overheat at a stationary. I have checked VCDS and engine coolant (g62) rises as normal, but the radiator outlet temp (g83) remains stuck on 35c. I have taken out the g83 sensor and the VCDS still shows it as stuck on this temp, so thinking not the sensor. I have traced and checked the contin

Re: CDL Swap on MK5 GTI
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Mk5 General Area on September 02, 2025, 08:14:03 pm
In my honest opinion, it'#039s almost never worth doing a swap, if the car came with that engine at any given point from the manufacturer. The only reason I'#039d do a CDL swap is if I blew my BWA because a cdl base is only twice as much as a bwa base.

For the amount it'#039d cost you to swap a CDL, you'#039d be able to forge your bwa, and then you have a fresh engine basically. A s

Re: Back in a MK5 GTi, anything to urgently do?
Last Poster: Bassman1974 in Mk5 General Area on August 29, 2025, 09:42:39 pm
Its fair to say that there are many 2.0 tfsi'#039s bombing around with high mileage on the original chains. The 400k plus GTI on here has never had the chain and associated components replaced.

That said, mine is sitting at a wild -17°. I'#039ve an original camshaft position sensor inbound. Obviously it'#039s not a true value or it would be running as lovely as it does for it'#039s

Re: Temp gauge dropping when heaters on
Last Poster: Mk5gti in Mk5 General Area on August 28, 2025, 08:12:16 am
So my issue is the needle drops when I turn heaters on
Both thermostats have been done and temp sensors using genuine parts, while driving the needle doesn’t drop, the needle will only drop at idle with heaters on

Re: Cracked air filter housing on engine cover
Last Poster: Joeb3006 in Performance Modifications on August 28, 2025, 07:06:59 am
I agree. I'#039d stick to the std intake and use a good quality std filter and just change it every year. The std intake gets nice cold air right from the leading edge of the bonnet, most "quotcold air"quot kits seem to get the air from inside the warm engine bay nbsp :stupid:. The same intake was used on ot

Stupid electric fuel filler flap has decided to play up, it has not locked in the time I've had the car now it sometimes gets stuck unlocked or locked.  :stupid: :fighting2:

New actuator required, looks a bit of a faff to do as well.
